POWELL RIVER MASSAGE THERAPY
"Keeping the Active Moving"
About Me
Dale Roscovich, Registered Massage Therapist
Born, 1951 and raised in Powell River.
After high school, I received a federal grant to kickstart recycling in Powell River. It was successful, but my itchy feet could not be ignored. After my contract was up, I left it in good hands and was soon on a freighter to Japan (1973). By the time I got to Singapore, it was time to reload my wallet, so I turned south to Australia.
Wages were low, saving went slowly. A serious outback motorcycle crash set me back two years of earnings. My stay down under stretched to 5 years. |
|
My extensive experience of disability there gave me a deep appreciation of health and those (e.g., nurses) who serve that value. Later, I had my first experience with Massage Therapy and was very impressed with its healing power. A pivotal event as I was searching for a lifelong career choice.
I made it back to Canada in 1979 via India, etc. and set about getting to massage college. I completed the program at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Ontario and by 1982 was in private practice in Vancouver.
I served on the Boards of both our regulatory body and our brand new Massage Therapists' Association. I chaired its publications committee for 5 years. I put in several semesters as Clinic Intern Supervisor at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver.
Upon request by the editor of the Trial Lawyers Association Journal "The Verdict", I extensively researched and published* a paper on whiplash and massage therapy. Moving to the Island, I have practiced in Parksville and Port Alberni until recently returning to Powell River to spend time with my very healthy 98 year old mother. I have a 25 year old son in Nanaimo.
I look forward to be of service to you with pain, chronic pain, stiffness, stress, maintenance and wellness.
